How do I receive an international payment to my UK account?

  • Use Your IBAN and BIC:
Payments should be sent using Allica’s BIC CIIVGB2AXXX, and then your unique IBAN (not your 8 digit account number), which can be found in the ‘Account details’ section of your online banking under ‘International transfers’. These are unique to your account and ensure the funds are routed correctly.
  • Currency Requirements:
All incoming international payments must be sent in GBP (Pounds Sterling). Payments sent in any other currency will be rejected and returned to the sender.
  • Processing Times:
International transfers can take 3 to 10 working days to arrive, depending on the country and bank the funds are sent from.
  • Important Note About Our BIC Code:
We recently updated our BIC to CIIVGB2AXXX to ensure higher chance of straight through processing. If you are expecting a payment, and it was sent to our old BIC CIIVGB22XXX, don’t worry – this remains valid and will generally still be accepted. However, if the originator has the funds returned please advise them to retry using CIIVGB2AXXX.
  • If you haven’t received a payment you’re expecting:
Please contact us and we’ll be happy to help. However, as we’re the receiving bank, we’re limited in what we can do to trace. While we investigate, we would suggest asking the payment originator to contact their bank to raise a Payment Trace, to determine exactly where the payment is, and for a copy of the full Payment Confirmation that they can send to you to help us give us any identifying information.

If you’re unsure which details to use, log in to your online banking and refer to the ‘Account Details’ section, or contact our Customer Services team via the secure message function or call on 0330 094 3333.
